Gameplay Unpacking
Your main objective here is to set up everything neatly and beautifully, finding the correct place for the tiniest elements of the interior. Immerse your imaginary hand inside one of the boxes and extract some random object. Then you will just need to figure out where it fits the best.
Although Unpacking gives you a certain freedom in terms of arrangement, simple logic is still present nonetheless. Thus, if you decide to place a plush toy in the bathroom, for example, the game will remind you that this is not the best choice and accentuates the wrong item for you to replace it.
Check out various positions and settle on the most suitable one. Depending on the surface, the item may change its position and even unfold, if it is a piece of clothes. Consider this feature as well, when you will be thinking how to fill in the shelves with such an impressive abundance of adornments.
Starting from only one room, you will gradually proceed to decorating a whole apartment! Switch between the areas by using a map or just click on the arrows at the sides. The boxes don’t always contain things which belong to the area where they are situated, so prepare to run from one room to another!
Every detail matters
Unpacking is telling you a pretty interesting narrative, while allowing you to chill and be busy with setting up the stuff. There are no documents or notes, no dialogue or even cut scenes, but each element adds to the plot, if you look at it closely. Begin from the childhood of the unknown heroine and follow her through her life paths, learning about all the happy and sad moments.
The game doesn’t make you hurry up, thus, there is lots of time to piece all your thoughts and guesses together in order to form your own variation of the narrative. Unleash your fantasy and supplement obvious facts with your own suggestions. Enjoy the process and invent more and more possible ways of scenario development.
At the same time, don’t forget that you still need to organise the apartment well, in spite of all the events behind the next moving. Empty cardboard boxes progressively, until you have nothing to pick up. When the game considers your mission accomplished, you will get a start as a sign that you may go to the next level.
However, when you are done with the standard set of levels, there will be a little surprise. How about reversing the task and avoiding order on purpose? Get all the stuff out of the packages and leave them on the ground, so that each piece of furniture remains untouched!
